CANBERRA, Wedncsday.—A fire burnt down a temporary dwelling and suffocated two children at Queanbeyan today. The children were Adriana Mihalic, 3i, and Bruno Mihalic_, two. Firemen were called to a blazing house in Kenneth Street at 2.45 p.m. They were _unaole to control the fire, which quickly swept through the threeroom temporary, house.

Mrs Mihalic, who was visiting neighbours when the fire broke out, unsuccessfully tried to reach the children. Her husband was in Canberra. The children were brought from the blazing house by.some electric linesmen who were working in the street. A doctor said they had suffocated. Mrs Mihalic was treated for shock in Queanbeyan District Hospital. Detective-Sergeant Shewan and Constable Holliday are in charge of investigations.
